Odds are you know that using video content on websites has been proven to help increase

engagement. However what if you’re already publishing videos on your website and you
aren’t seeing the sort of tangible increase in engagement levels that you were hoping for?

Make no mistake, videos can’t increase engagement levels magically – and for them to do
so, you need to take the right steps.

Focus on Retaining Viewers

A big part of improving engagement involves focusing on retaining viewers who are
watching your videos. After all if viewers stop watching, they aren’t going to be very
engaged.

To accomplish that you need to pay heed to the following when creating video content for
your website:
  • Videos should be short as the longer they are the more viewers will stop watching.  Ideally a duration of 1 to 2 minutes is best in most cases.
  • The first 10 seconds need to hook the viewer, otherwise they are likely to stop watching right there and then.
  • It should be mobile-optimized, as more and more people are watching videos from mobile devices.

Simply put you should aim for short videos that quickly hook the viewer right from the first
few seconds and are optimized for mobile devices. If you can hit those requirements, you
should be able to retain a lot more viewers and your engagement levels will increase.

Encourage Interaction

Another critical component of engagement is interaction – which is where your Call To
Action (CTA) comes into play. Assuming you’re retaining viewers to the end of your video,
you then need to have a compelling CTA that tells them what to do next.

In some cases you may want to encourage them to interact directly, while in others you may
point them towards performing a particular action. It isn’t so important what sort of
interaction you require – but rather that you ensure you encourage some sort of interaction
in the first place.

As you can imagine it is important that the video content you publish looks polished and
professional to improve engagement as well. That is something that Movavi Screen Capture
Studio for Mac can help you with, by allowing you to record, edit and produce high quality
video content.

In addition to being a screen recording software for Mac, Movavi Screen Capture Studio for
Mac can also record videos from a webcam, by digitizing VHS tapes, and so on. Via its built-
in editor you can then improve the footage that you record by enhancing its quality, cutting
and joining video segments, applying special effects, adding captions, including background
music, and more.

All in all Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac’s set of features are perfectly suited to
produce impressive video content that will stand out, retain viewers, and encourage
interaction. If you’ve struggled to create compelling videos in the past, you should make it a
point to try it out for yourself so you can see how easy it makes it to record and edit videos.
