If you are planning a visit to the Vermont side of Lake Champlain, Burlington is a must. You can walk or bike along the waterfront or take a scenic boat ride on the lake.
A short walk from the waterfront will lead you to downtown Burlington and Church Street Marketplace where you can browse shops for local products, grab a bite to eat, or take in some street entertainment. Burlington is a great option on the waterfront, and a city with so much to do. If you find that you love this bustling city on the lake, there are plenty of Burlington houses for sale. Shelburne, VTShelburne is a town just south of Burlington and also located right on Lake Champlain. The town has a beach for enjoying the lake, as well as a boat launch for anyone who wants to go out onto the lake. However, Shelburne is also known for some other fun attractions. Also located along the lakeshore in Shelburne is Shelburne Farms. Shelburne Farms is a 1,400 acre working farm dedicated to education and sustainability. Visitors to the farm can enjoy guided tours of the property or a walk along the trails on their own, petting farm animals, eating at the restaurant, or even staying at the inn on the property. If you want to venture a little ways inland, you can also enjoy some art at the Shelburne Museum. Stuffed animals lovers will also enjoy a visit to the Vermont Teddy Bear Company where they can take a tour of the factory and even purchase their own teddy bear. Lake Champlain IslandsIf you want to try something truly unique, you can visit Vermont’s Lake Champlain Islands. Located at the top of Lake Champlain, there are five towns spread out over numerous islands, as well as a peninsula. Visitors can enjoy water activities, state parks, and in the winter, the North Hero Great Ice Festival. If you are planning a trip to the Vermont side of Lake Champlain, there are many cities, towns, and even islands to visit and explore. Each locale has fun attractions that are unique and exciting.
